Asset Disposal
The Torngat Secretariat has adopted the following asset disposal policy:
When an asset is declared surplus to its requirements, the Secretariat will dispose of the surplus asset ensuring the highest net value is obtained through disposals. The disposal process will be by means of sale to the public by tender.
In cases where the estimated cost of the tender is likely to exceed the net market value of the assets, then the Secretariat may choose not to sell the asset, but instead dispose of it by gratuitous transfer to a recognized charitable organization or destruction of the asset if possible in an environmentally appropriate manner and with due regard to public scrutiny.
Surplus assets that are sold or donated are "as is, where is" and the Secretariat assumes no liability for accident, injury or loss resulting from the use of the asset subsequent to disposal.
